UCLA gets a lot of love, translating their NCAA Final run into the signing of big Oregon bigman Kevin Love (2007). Ben Howland was in tears as UCLA managed to beat Ole Roy (North Carolina) for this recruit.
No wonder Ben Howland was in tears, he had been unable to get enough big men for UCLA. But this changes everything as he gets one of the top 5 players in the 2007 class, and the top rated big-man prospect.
This in turn brings another big in the Pac10, with Spencer Hawes and the Lopez twins expected to dominate while in college.
Meanwhile UCLA's crosstown rival is hoping to have OJ Mayo and friends in their shiny new arena in 2007, setting up some really interesting USC-UCLA matchups in 07-08.
