Mid-week report

  • Every 2007 NCAA College Basketball Tournament game on DVD!
  • The Hodge Report at CSTV has new news: Rick Pitino gets a top 100 forward out of Jersey (2008 class), Majerus gets another commit, Colorado State has signed a player who has changed college choices twice already before even setting foot on a campus, Ohio State and Valpo lose a commit, but Nevada gains a local one.
  • OJ Mayo mania at Jeff Goodman's blog. Goodman also talks about the potential impact of Pitino's new 2008 forward. The OJ post has generated a lot of discussion among the readers. As expected.
  • More on Jamaican forward Samardo Samuels and Louisville at FoxSports.
  • Goodman also talks about Nevada beating the Thad Matta Express for the services of a local but touted prospect.
  • On the anniversary of the "Tear down this Wall" speech, Rivals.com has decided to enact their own perestroika by making more of their content available to the masses. This latest story by Justin Young looks at mid-major recruiting. Although some mid-major fans will argue that neither Memphis nor Gonzaga are really mid-majors. Gonzaga is a designer mid-major, while Memphis is a "BCS" team trapped in a mid-major conference while undergoing the Calipari Experiment.
  • More recruting updates at A Sea of Blue featuring 2010 player (Dakotah Euton), Cortney Fortson, and Andre Clark... A Sea of Blue shares my worries that Coach K may use his polish heritage to grab the jumping jack polish sensation Oleg Czyz.
  • Updates on six of the top 50 players in the class of 2008 at John Clay's Sidelines blog.
  • Iktmmedia.com talks about Kentucky recruiting, including the new jumping jack sensation from Poland, Olek Czyz, along with updateds on Fortson and Liggins.
  • New Book segment: "Vertical Leap" by Tennessee senior Dane Bradshaw, who just graduated from Tennessee and is a signature face associated with the start of the Bruce Pearl era at Tennessee. Foreword written by (who else) Bruce Pearl. Book currently sells for under $14.
