Monday Night Hoops (lots to read!)

  • Mike Miller of Beyond the Arc comes back from vacation with basketball camp coverage. He also provides a list of upcoming camps. No more ABCD Camp this year, but instead there's Rbk U.
  • A number of recruiting updates from Dick Hoops Weiss covering the all-star game at Trenton, NJ, spotlighting a number of local NY/NJ up and coming prospects. Weiss also reports on the LeBron James Nike event in Akron, Ohio and provides the top 5 players per position courtesy of HoopScoop's Clark Francis and their Ohio editor Chris Johnson. Of note, Lance Stephenson finished ahead of the other super-wing, Tyreke Evans.
  • DeCourcy managed back to back to back recruiting posts. First he points out that Greg Monroe isn't too worried about his rankings (he is now considered the #1 of the 2008 class), then he notes that the line for the services of Al Faroud Aminu is getting longer as he continues to develop, and finally he takes a ... Bruin Holiday as Ben Howland finally manages to beat everyone for a very high profile SoCal recruit. And one post before that, DeCourcy looks at the recruiting impact of Billy Clyde Gillispie since he took over Kentucky.
  • John Clay's Sidelines Report has a comprehensive roundup of some recent basketball camps
  • Meanwhile Van(ce) Coleman at CSTV publishes the top 42 classes of 2007. Some familiar places and some new coaches making a splash in his list. Three big ten teams in the top 10, so maybe they'll play more offense and less slugfest :-) The next John Beilein (Jerry Weinwright) is in the top 10. Highly recommended!.
  • More updates from Goodman: LeBron makes more than an appearance at his own event, Nigel Munson transferring out of Va Tech, and Tubby Smith and Billy Clyde Gillispie sitting next to each other. Check his blog for all the details.
